It just hit me that I’m 26

I don’t mean that I didn’t realize it

I’ve been telling people for weeks

But this birthday feels different

I mean that 26 now feels like a deep breath

I mean that I think I can finally relax

I mean I can slow down and catch up

I’m not running to beat time

I’m not running out of youth

I’m not running away from possibilities
